EMDR

What is EMDR?

How it Helps

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing is a type of psychotherapy that uses eye movement or other forms of bilateral stimulation to assist clients in accessing and processing traumatic memories. The goal of EMDR is to reprocess these memories to reduce emotional distress, decrease physiological arousal, and restructure negative beliefs so that clients have more adaptive thoughts and behaviors. EMDR is often integrated with expressive arts and mindfulness practices at GIFT for further integration and self-healing.
