Carly Grether

Hi, I’m Carly Grether, and I’m so glad you’re here! I grew up in Camarillo, California, and relocated to Greenville, South Carolina in July of 2024. For the past five years, I have worked as a school counselor, supporting children and adolescents by advocating for their emotional well-being and helping them navigate life’s challenges. I am excited to be part of the team at GIFT, where I get to do what I love most—creating a therapeutic, supportive, and safe space where clients can be themselves, express their emotions, and work toward meaningful goals that support a fulfilling life.

While I primarily work with children and teens, I also enjoy supporting clients across all stages of life. My counseling approach is person-centered and holistic, allowing me to meet clients where they are and tailor therapy to their unique needs. I will listen to and support you in a warm and nurturing environment and will be a positive support for you on your journey. I frequently incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a strengths-based approach to support clients experiencing anxiety, depression and trauma. I can also use Play Therapy to address emotional and behavioral challenges in younger clients.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Gonzaga University (2013), a Master of Professional Studies in Public Relations & Corporate Communications from Georgetown University (2017), and a Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Denver (2022). Most recently, I completed coursework in Clemson University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program to become eligible for my LPC-A in South Carolina. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors and hold an Initial School Counseling Certificate from the South Carolina Department of Education.

When not in the office, you can find me enjoying yoga, walking on the Swamp Rabbit Trail or at my favorite coffee shop with friends!
